This reference covers observability on Suga: viewing logs, monitoring metrics, and debugging issues.

Logs

Access logs from the Logs tab in the service properties panel.

Log Retention

Logs are available while your service is running. When services are replaced (during deployments, restarts, or scaling), previous logs are no longer accessible. For long-term log retention, you can stream logs to external services (Datadog, Logtail, Papertrail).
Built-in log retention for Pro and Enterprise plans is coming soon.

Metrics

Access metrics from the Metrics tab in the service properties panel.
Metrics tab showing CPU and memory usage graphs

CPU Usage

Shows CPU cores consumed over time.
PatternInterpretation
Consistently > 80%Increase CPU allocation
Consistently < 20%Consider decreasing (save costs)
At 100%Throttled, users experiencing slowness

Memory Usage

Shows MiB/GiB consumed over time.
PatternInterpretation
Consistently > 80%Risk of OOMKilled, increase memory
Growing steadilyPossible memory leak
Consistently < 30%Over provisioned
Memory at 90%+ means high risk of OOMKilled crashes. Increase memory allocation.
